1. Silver Falls State Park, Oregon
Silver Falls State Park is widely considered the finest of Oregon’s state parks. It features some truly gorgeous waterfalls strewn throughout its over 9,000 acres of densely forested woodlands. Visitors can find ten of these waterfalls by walking the 8.7-mile Trail of Ten Falls, including the 178-foot Double Falls. The park features developed campsites for both RV and tent camping, with electric and water hookups available.

2. Cape Disappointment State Park, Washington
Don’t let the name of this gorgeous state park throw you for a loop; Cape Disappointment has plenty to offer, from pristine beaches to trails throughout wooded areas. Campsites are available within walking distance of the beach, with trailer and tent sites available. The 2,000-acre park has several trails, and visitors can check out the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center.

3. Shi Shi Beach, Washington
Shi Shi Beach, located in Olympic National Park, is a great place to camp for some more adventurous campers. There aren’t any developed sites, just plenty of great places for tenting both on and off the beach. It’s an incredibly popular spot in the summer months. It’s about a two-mile hike to reach the beach from available parking, so you’ll have to pack light!

4. Fort Stevens State Park, Oregon
Fort Stevens State Park is the place to go to take in the scenic wilderness of Oregon. The 4,300-acre park features a historic military fort and museum, a freshwater lake for swimming and fishing, and enjoyable nature trails. You can even see the remains of the shipwreck of Peter Iredale at low tide. Sites feature full amenities for RVs, tent sites, and there are cabins available as well.

5. Bruneau Dunes State Park, Idaho
While most people think of either the coastline or the dense forests when considering Northwest America, there are many more unique sites than that. Bruneau Dunes State Park in Idaho features magnificent rolling sand dunes, including the tallest one in North America. The park has plenty of opportunities for fishing, horseback riding, and more.
